Laneah at 3 years, 10 months

* We have been learning how to read and recognize certain words as well as using phonics to pronounce words. We rent a video from the library called Sight Words and Laneah loves it. Her favorite word is "to". She gets very excited when she sees it. When we read together she helps me and is getting pretty good. 


*Laneah still loves to be tickled.

*She is on an anti boy kick. She will tell me things like "I don't like boys, they stink". But most of the time she plays with them fine. 


*Laneah wants everything she sees on kid toy commercials, it is pretty funny.


*She made up a name: Shalot and uses it interchangeably for me, Brooklyn, friends, or even sometimes a pretend friend.


*One of her favorite things is getting her face painted. It is one of the few things she will wait patiently for.

* A few funny mispronunciations: "presh air"(fresh air), "bin" (bun; like hair bun), "sink" (think), "camer" (camera)

*While showing me a painting she made at preschool she told me "mom, I made red and blue turn purple! I made magic!"


*Nana came to visit and Laneah had so much fun with her. 

*Laneah is having so much fun at preschool. On Tuesdays she carpools with her friend Scarlette and they do a play date at her house after and on Thursdays we pick up Scarlette and she comes to our house for a play date. It has worked out really well because Scarlette and Laneah play great together. Their personalities mesh well together and they have lots of fun without all the drama. Here they found Laneah's Christmas pjs and put them one. They were singing Jingle Bells but instead of the words they were just singing "ho ho ho".

She loves to "pose" for pictures. She can be a little over the top but they are still cute. In these pictures she is showing off her new boots. The boots are adorable. 

*She is obsessed with Ariel from the Little Mermaid. She has the singing doll and the little play set from the disney store. She also has a mermaid costume and an Ariel costume. She chose to be Ariel for Halloween too. 

*My poor baby got pneumonia this month. Her fever spiked to 104.8 and she was hallucinating. Jason and I were in Boston, but luckily it happened the day we came home. My mom took her to the doctor and they got her on antibiotics right away. She is almost finished with them and is doing much better. Hopefully they worked. I think so because she isn't coughing at all anymore. 

*She has a state book and she reads it almost every day. She loves learning about the different states and knows that she lives in Maryland and knows what states all of her relatives live in.

Laneah continues to be sugar and spice; she can be so sweet that your heart melts or so, shall we say spicy?, that it makes you cry. At least it is a good balance. We just love, love, love her!
