Boston Day 5: Downtown Boston

Tuesday was our last day in Boston. We were flying out that night so we had most of the day to tour around downtown Boston. We parked at the Boston Common and walked through the gorgeous public gardens.

Boston is full of beautiful buildings. I fell in love with all the amazing architecture.

We wanted to see as much of Boston as possible so we went on one a Duck Tour. They were first made during world war II. They are cars and boats so they work on land and in the water.
The State Capitol.
On Beacon Hill, one of the oldest streets in Boston, they still light the gas lamps every day.
This is a piece of the Berlin Wall.
Time to get into the water.
Can you see me?
 Views from the river.

This was our guide. He was so funny. He even had Jason laughing.
After the tour we had lunch and then headed back through the gardens.
We wanted to see more of the Freedom Trail so we took a guided walking tour and learned a lot about Boston's History.
The graves of those who died in the Boston Massacre.
The old State house where Declaration of Independence was first read from the balcony.
The top of Faneuil Hall. The man who built it was French and liked grasshoppers. During the revolution, if a person seemed suspicious as a spy the Bostonian would ask the suspected "where does the bug fly?" The answer was Faneuil Hall. If the person didn't know then the Bostonian knew they weren't from around Boston.
Cute bronze duck and ducklings in the gardens.
After the tour it was time for us to head to the airport. We had such a great trip but were anxious to get home to see the girls.
