Disney Cruise Day 1 : Sail Away Party

Sunday morning we ate breakfast, packed our packs and took a cab to the port terminal to check in to our Disney Cruise. After we checked in, we boarded the boat and some the crew were there to "announce" us, like in Cinderella at the ball. The ship was gorgeous. Since you check your bags and have to wait for your room to be ready, we had a few small bags so we could swim and play.

We headed straight for lunch and ran into Mulan!!

Our cabin was great. We had a room with a small ocean view. During the day it looked like this with a couch, and when we came to our room in the evening, the couch was made into a bed, and a bunk bed was pulled out and made from the ceiling. It was really cool.
My parents got a room with a veranda and lucked out, they ended up not only getting a handicap room (which is bigger), but they got a room on the end so their deck was enormous.

We didn't waste any time on the cruise and wanted to enjoy every second. There were so many things to do! The kids loved the pools and the Mickey slide. And I enjoyed the adult pool, the few times I got to go.

We had to start taking advantage of the unlimited ice cream.

When it was time to cast off, there was a big Sail Away dance party. Mickey and the gang came out to dance.

On our cruise, they had three main dining restaurants that you were assigned to eat at on different nights, although you could always eat at the other small eateries on board or order room service. Our first night, our reservations were at Tritons. We had some friends join us on the cruise who live out in Utah, the Butterfields so we met up with them at dinner and it was so great to see them.

The food was pretty good, but the kids were mostly excited for the dessert: Mickey bars!!

We went to a game show like Disney Trivia and Jason and Laneah got to go up and be a team. They had a lot of fun and won the game.

What a great start to our adventure!
