Union Station- Ice Skating and Polar Express

We had gotten tickets to go to Union Station for ice skating and the Polar express on Christmas Eve. Sadly, my mom wasn't feeling well enough to go so she stayed home. Union Station was covered in Christmas decorations with lots of photo ops.
They had a room where you could be on the news.

They had a dancing light and fire show in the pond and several tree that lit up with color and sometimes words. The best was when the did the song from Frozen.

Ice skating was really fun. The girls, Sawyer, Alex and I were able to skate, but the skates hurt my dad and Jason too much so they didn't skate. For Sawyer, they had these adorable skates that went over his shoes. It was his first time skating and he did great. He really enjoyed and was out on the ice for quite a while.

Sorry again, the pictures are in a crazy order, but I'm not going to mess with trying to put them together.

The Polar Express was way overpriced. It was cute, but a short little ride to a 2 second north pole with graffiti on either side. The train itself was barely decorated and there wasn't as much fun as it could have been. That being said, the kids liked it, we got cookies and hot chocolate and we saw Santa.

Sawyer loved the miniature train set.

Jason, Alex and the girls did the snow tubing.

Looking back to see Santa board the train.
Overall it was a great time. I would do all of it again except the Polar Express, but it was fun to do it once.
