Gaylord Ice- 'Shrek the Halls'

On November 17th Laneah and I went to Gaylord Ice with our friends Teresa and Maddie. Since we didn't have the greatest experience last time, Jason wasn't interested in going so I left Brooklyn with him so I could have a special date with Laneah. I was able to get half price tickets on living social and we got there right when they opened so we didn't have to wait in line at all.

This year the theme was Shrek. The Gaylord flies in Chinese artisans who work for three months making all the sculptures out of two million pounds of ice.
They give you special polar jackets to wear over your clothes before you go in because it is only 9 degrees inside!

The girls loved it! It is really magical in there; cold, but magical.

Everything in here is ice except the floor.

The girls favorite part was the 20-feet tall ice slides. It was funny because the first time they went down, they didn't realize that they needed to use their coats to slide so they inch wormed their way down.

At the end, their was this beautiful Nativity all in white.
Once we got out and could feel our fingers again we found this little kiosk that you could take your picture and email it to yourself or someone else, for free.

The girls thought it was hilarious and kept dancing and making silly faces for the camera.

After we finished we walked over the the Gaylord hotel to see the atrium decorated for Christmas. At night the fountains dance to music and it snows inside, but it is still fun during the day. We ate lunch there and then walked around.

This is my favorite picture of the day. They were just talking and pretending to be mermaids. So sweet.
The last thing we did was ride the train.

It was really fun and I enjoyed spending time with Laneah.

This looks like the coolest place! You are surrounded by so many great things for families to do! I love KC, but we don't have half these activities.
