We drove to West Virginia to see my sister and nephews. Makaila, Amanda and her kids came too. The center has a lot of activities. We did the indoor nature center and the water park. We did the nature center first, but the way the pictures uploaded, the water park is at the beginning. The water park had a pool, a splash pad and three slides. The kids loved the water park. Tessa and Laneah went down the big water slides over and over. Brooklyn stuck to the smaller slide and the little ones mostly stayed in the splash area. The pool water was freezing and it was really cloudy so that didn't help. Luckily I only had to get in the water for a minute, since Sawyer preferred the splash area.
In between the water park and nature center, we went to a little park area for a picnic lunch and to play.
The nature center was like a science center, but it also had some animals and insects. Each room had a different theme and the kids had a great time in each room.
They had a room of gems, geodes and fossils. Brooklyn was attracted to the gems of course.
In this room, you could plant a garden, or pick the crops and have a feast at the little house. There was also a tree house.
The insect room had a beehive, an ant home, and lots of insect puzzles and games.
There was a rainforest type room with lots of plants, a small waterfall, tropical birds, turtles and lizards.
The water and wind room was a big hit with Sawyer and Benjamin.
There was a room with colors and lights. It had a small area covered with mirrors you could crawl into and the lights in there changed colors.
It was a long drive but we had a great day!
