Arts and Crafts

Before Laneah started preschool, I decided that I needed to make something to show off her artwork. My fridge is not that big and already full of pictures and invitations so I needed to be creative with my limited space. I chose a spot in my dining room, so I wanted it to look nice and not childish. That is where pintrest came in to play. I love that site and will post more about it since I have made a lot of crafts and recipes from there. This was pretty easy to do, but somewhat time consuming. I measured the wall to see what sizes I wanted the boards to be and then went to Home Depot and had them cut. I spray painted the boards black and then distressed them using a sanding block(that took forever). I found these clips at Walmart and I glued them on using wood glue. I ordered the vinyl online and put it all together. It turned out great and filled up fast:)

Here are some things Laneah made at preschool:

This was the family portrait she made at preschool.
And this is her self portrait.

Laneah's drawing has come a long way. She just started doing more than scribbles this summer and now she draws all sorts of things. One of the cutest, quirkiest things she does is draw these outrageous eyelashes on pictures of girls. The ones in this drawing aren't as long as the ones she normally does.
We did the halloween ghost footprints

                                                     And the fall handprint tree

I wasn't sure if Brooklyn would like putting paint on her hands and feet, but she loved it. They both had lots of fun making these. I put them on canvas so I can hang them up every year. They turned out so cute!
