Homestead Gardens

We went to Homestead Gardens twice this year. The first time we went just a few minutes before closing so we didn't get to see as much as we would have liked. Our first trip was with Jason's mom. Homestead Gardens has tons of beautifully decorated trees, perfect for photo ops. If I was more on top of things, this picture would be my Christmas card.
They had this cute ginger bread house.
And Laneah's favorite: a tree full of puppies!
They also have this amazing train set up but it was already shut down for the night.
When they closed, we went outside to see all of the Christmas lights. They decorate all their trees outside with different color lights. Laneah ran from tree to tree checking out all of the colors.
Some of the trees were up on a hill and Jason taught her how to roll down the hill. The videos are really funny.

On Saturday we went to Homestead Gardens again, this time with my mom . Santa was there and pictures with Santa are free. We stood in line and Laneah said she wanted to see Santa, but once we sat down next to Santa she got scared. She said "no, no" and then called for daddy. So Jason came and sat down with us, but she still didn't want to sit by him.
So we got up and she gave Santa a high five and got a candy cane.
After she got her candy cane, she was happy again so we took a picture with the pretty Santa background with the reindeer and snowy trees.
We saw a fake Santa later and at first she was scared until she realized he wasn't real. I got her on tape doing her Santa Claus impression. I ask her what does Santa say? And she says "ho, ho, ho" in a deep voice.

The train was working and Laneah loved it. When it would go around the corner, she would say "where'd it go?" and then laugh when it came back around. She kept yelling, "cool!" and "choo choo!"
After playing and looking around we went and picked out our tree. As soon as we picked out our tree, it started snowing! We will definitely be going to Homestead Gardens next year too.

That place is SO cute! And so was Laneah in both outfits. Don't you love Gymboree hair bows? I have about a hundred of them. Laneah's reaction to Santa reminds me so much of Isabella's--all 3 years! I loved your red coat, btw. You looked beautiful in those pictures.

ok so funny story, when i watched the video where you and laneah are with that santa statue i totally didn't catch that it was fake until you pulled on his beard. i was thinkin "rach, why would just pull on santa's beard?!?" then i took a little closer look and saw it was fake. lol. i'm running off of 3 hours of sleep plus it's like 2 in the morning here. love ya!
