Port Discovery

On March 21st, I took the girls to Port Discovery in Baltimore with some friends. Laneah and I had been once before when she was little and they had done a lot of work on the place since then. Last time we were there it wasn't dirty, but very worn. They redid a lot of the rooms and it looked great.

Brooklyn and Avonlea loved this picture spot and kept asking me to take their pictures.

 All Aboard!
The museum was doing a wizard of oz theme and had all kinds of cool things. This was Dorothy's bike and as you pedaled, the crystal inside the box would turn and it looked like the witch was flying. They also had a big box with the wizard and you could talk into the box and it would change your voice just like the movie. Laneah spent a lot of time at that one.
This is a small web, but they have a huge climbing web with slides and tunnels that goes from the entrance all the way up to the top floor. There are 4 floors so it is huge. Laneah and Josh went through it a couple of times, but we didn't let Brooklyn or Avie go through it.
Brooklyn's favorite place was the diner. She sat us down, got us menus and made us food.

Laneah's favorite was the water room. The kids got pretty wet but they had fun. This part was really cool. You got to spray water on instruments and see what sound it made. So you could even make up a song.
In the water room you could put pipes over the water to make it flow in different directions.
Laneah took a picture on the surf board for me and Avie wanted in on the action.

Laneah and Josh making a giant bubble.
Brooklyn loved combing the lions hair.

Laneah and Josh painted rocks with water for a long time. I will let the kids do that this summer. Who knew it would be such a big hit?
I thought this was so cute. Brooklyn had the piggies talking and kissing!
The last room we went to was the art room. The kids all made marble paintings and then drew some pictures with chalk and crayons too.
It was a fun day. Thanks to Lea, Avonlea and Josh for inviting us!
