What's Happening:

*Laneah loves showing off. If you come over to our house, Laneah will show you all her toys and all her tricks.

* She is no longer taking naps, so by 4 pm, life gets real rough.

*Laneah is so clumsy. She constantly tripping over her own feet and running into things.

*She is very high energy and always on the go. If we are home, she is always asking or pretending to be going somewhere. If we are on our way home from an outing, she will whine "no go home"

*Laneah thinks that people, including herself, that she watches on a video can hear her. So when we watch a video of Laneah singing, she will yell "Neah! Hi Neah!" and try to talk to herself on the video. Priceless.

*She loves to make Brooklyn laugh. She is also a great big sister and loves to give her hugs and kisses.

*When we are at church and it is time for prayer we will say "Laneah it's time for prayer" and she will reply "ok, Neah say it" and then start saying the prayer

*She is into building things right now, especially forts and castles

*Singing and dancing are two of her favorite things to do. She has a cow girl hat that she loves to put on when she sings Old McDonald.

*She is a true artist and is always very proud of her pictures. She likes to show them off and then wants them displayed on the fridge.

Laneah is a character. She is social, entertaining and very smart. She can make me want to scream one minute and then melt my heart the next. She keeps us on our toes:)

Gymboree

We started an art class at Gymboree today and Laneah had so much fun. She is very artistic so I thought it would be good to put her in an art class. We started off with free paint, where the kids could paint a picture that they want.

Then we moved on to the theme of today's class which was the green and speckled frogs (do you know the song?) The teacher put a bunch of shaving cream on the table and let the kids explore the texture and then added green paint. Then they made a picture with the green shaving cream and added yellow dots with q-tips.
The next project was Laneah's favorite. They colored on brown paper and rolled the paper so it was a "log" and then added "frogs", which were green fuzzies and added googly eyes.
After cleaning up, we had snack and story time. Then it was time for dress up. The teacher pulled out a big bin, but Laneah just wanted the butterfly wings. She did put the hat for a little while.
Laneah and her new friend Savannah ran around playing and laughing.
It was a really fun class and we are looking forward to next week and more art projects.

Brooklyn is 7 months old!

Brooklyn has changed so much in the last month. She has turned into a wiggle worm. She wants to see everything and taste everything and grab everything! She likes to grab faces; she pulls my lip, nose and pokes my eyes all throughout the day:)

We call her little lamb because her laugh sounds like a little lamb bleating.

She can sit up by herself for about 10 minutes at a time.

Brooklyn loves looking at pictures right now. Every time we pass by the fridge (which is covered in pictures) she practically jumps out of my arms in excitement.

She is babbling non stop now. Her favorite thing to say is gaga, but she also likes dada.

She is now rolling from back to tummy.

Laneah has a cow girl hat that she loves to put on Brooklyn.
She is eating solid foods well. She has tried most of the foods now and I love feeding her because it doesn't matter if she likes the food or not, her expression on the first bite is utter disgust. Laneah and I break down laughing every time we feed her. After the first bite though, she gobbles the rest down.

Brooklyn is probably teething, but no teeth are showing yet. Because of this she wants to put everything in her mouth and chew on it.

We had a scary incident a couple of weeks ago where she had blood in her stool again. I took her to the doctor who said that 30% of babies who are allergic to milk have a cross over allergy to soy as well. So now our little princess is on a ridiculously expensive hypoallergenic formula, but we are glad that she is all better.

Brooklyn can get on all fours now and she can scoot backwards. She will probably be crawling soon, but I hope she takes her time.

Lately she has been making this old man face, where she sucks on her lips. I guess because she is teething and always wants something to suck on all the time.

She also still sucks her thumb
She loves to be thrown into the air and to "fly" in the air. She will do her high pitched squeal and show you her big gummy smile.

Brooklyn thinks her big sister is hilarious. She loves watching her and playing with her. And Laneah loves making Brooklyn laugh so they play these little games and laugh together.

We love our little princess so much!

Carnival

Last night we went to a carnival, or as Laneah called it a "carvaval". She had so much fun and wanted to do everything. She won a little duck in a game and it is her new buddy.
Her favorite ride was the choo choo train.

Laneah and I went down the fun slide together and she loved it.

The rest of the rides she rode by herself for the first time. Before she always rode with me. But she didn't mind at all. She just laughed and waved and had a great time.

Brooklyn was fascinated by all the lights and noise and had a good time too. It ended too soon. Luckily we are going back to Sesame Place soon.

Too Cute

Jessica's Baby Shower

On Saturday, Kami and I threw a baby shower for our best friend Jessica. She is having a girl and is due next month. I love to plan and decorate so I had lots of fun with this shower. Jessica was planning on having her nursery be giraffe/safari themed so Kami and decided to run with it.
We made the invitations (sorry the picture isn't that great)

Jess likes things a little more classy, so instead of balloons, I made these pom poms to hang.
Kami made this gorgeous diaper cake and table runner

We arranged flowers in vases and put them all over the house.
This banner was last minute and I put it together in 10 minutes, but I thought it turned out cute. It is kind of hard to see, but it says "Whoa Baby". We had clothespin on the lines, and whenever Jess got a really cute outfit, we pinned it to the clothesline so everyone could see it.
Somehow in the craziness of getting the shower together I didn't take a picture of the room with other decorations and the food. Jess has celiacs so we had a gluten free brunch. We had fruit, gluten free muffins (apple cinnamon, blueberry and chocolate chip), scones with toppings, and an egg, cheese and bacon casserole. The food was great and Jess was so happy to be able to eat everything since it was all gluten free.
Jess got some great gifts and she loved the shower.

And Kami and I loved throwing it. It was lots of fun and I am so excited for Jess' baby to come.
