Brooklyn at 2 years, 2 months

Her ear infections are finally gone and she is doing so much better with her speech. She added 10 new words to her vocabulary this month.

New Words:
*apple
*up
*"dow" down,
*"the is" there it is,
*"tee" tree
*"mmm... num num"
* "abee" this has a double meaning, either Abby(from Sesame Street) or happy
*"see"
*"yay!"
*"uh huh"- she still won't say yes, she either nods or now she says uh huh.

*Her favorite words are "no" and "more"

*She still uses several signs as well. Here she is signing eat; she knows about 20 signs.
*Brooklyn prefers to be clean and uses napkins to wipe her face and hands....
but doesn't mind getting messy like she used too.

*Her favorite things to do outside are chasing butterflies, collecting rocks and picking flowers.

*She has a jewelry obsession. I am not exaggerating.
*She can blow bubbles now but it is pretty funny because she puts them right on her mouth so she gets bubbles all over her face.

*She loves balls and likes playing catch and kicking them as well.
*She is still a candy junkie but her favorite foods are cheese, blueberries, french toast sticks and yogurt.
*She loves backpacks and has one with her a majority of the time.
*She puts her hands on her cheeks all the time now and says "no no! (oh no). So cute.
*She prefers to push the stroller now rather than ride in it.
*Her favorite game is pretending to be a monster or lion (I'm not sure). She roars but it is a low, quiet roar and so cute and then she laughs and squeals when you pretend to be scared. Then she wants you to do it to her. I will have to get a video of it to post because it is adorable.

Brooklyn is getting big and a little bit ornery truth be told. But she still loves to cuddle and she is so compassionate. If anyone is sad she will bring them a toy and pat them. She gives Laneah tons of love whenever she is sick or sad. She is our little sweetheart.

Nana Love

Nana came to visit for two whole weeks, and despite a bad start (she was in the hospital for a few days) we had a great time and miss her so much already! She is the best Nana and just dotes on the girls.

We took Brooklyn to see her first movie (Laneah was there too), The Lorax. Both of the girls loved it. Brooklyn clapped and danced and laughed. When they showed previews every time the preview ended she would yell "more" and when The Lorax ended she yelled "more" again. It was so cute.
We went a lot of places but one of the favorites was Joyful Jumps.
Brooklyn is a pro at these places now. She can climb up all by herself and go down slides by herself as well. She may be little but she is strong.

One day while Laneah was at preschool we went to downtown Annapolis.

Another favorite place (for the girls anyway) was Chuck E Cheese. Here Brooklyn is kissing Barney.

Laneah was so excited to see Chuck E Cheese. Brooklyn was excited but kept her distance.

We miss you Nana! Come back soon.

Eric Energy

The first Wednesday of every month, our mall has a free family event with a performance, crafts and more. This month's performance was by Eric Energy. It was kind of a science experiment performance so I wasn't sure if the girls would like it, but they loved it. They sat and listened but also participated.
Our friends, Teresa and Maddie came
And Sienna and Jess too
Brooklyn looked adorable in her new outfit.

Brooklyn liked the music and dancing more than anything. She went crazy:)
Laneah loved being able to go up and touch and feel the different things. They did a lot with dry ice.

Brooklyn thought it was hand sanitizer (ours is foam as well) and rubbed it in, lol.

After we played at the mall and did some of the crafts and had a yummy lunch. Our mall is the best:)

Party Time

The last Saturday in February we had two birthday parties to attend. The first was for Brooklyn's friend Cullen. The kids were supposed to dress up for a fancy party and they all looked so cute. Cullen's mom, Laura made adorable bow ties with an elastic band for the boys and feather hair clips with sparkly embellishments for the girls.
The kids got these glasses in their treat bags. Brooklyn and her friend Charlotte were playing so cute together.

The birthday boy with his cupcake.
Brooklyn was being so dainty with her cupcake; taking small bites and wiping her hands and face with a napkin.
After Cullen's party, Brooklyn and I stopped by the house to pick up Jason and Laneah for baby Avonlea's 1st birthday party. It was a circus theme and so cute. They even bought a popcorn machine and cotton candy maker.
Avonlea's dad, Kevin, making cotton candy.

There were lots of games and bins full of great prizes for the kids.
They even had a face painter.
Brooklyn went to the prize bin and confiscated all the jewelry, lol.
Avonlea and her cute mom Lea.
They had a photo booth set up and had everyone take pictures before they left. These are a few of ours.

When we got home the girls discovered they had clown noses in their treat bags.
Brooklyn laughing at me when I put the clown nose on. She wasn't sure about putting it on at first, but after Laneah and I did it, she tried it on.

It was a long, but fun day and my party girls were wiped out. They sure enjoyed the sugar rush and the fun.
