Easter Celebration

 Last Saturday we went to an Easter party put on by a church in Annapolis. It was great and best of all, everything was free. They had a live band, 3 separate egg hunts, tons of games, prizes, pony rides, food and more. We did the egg hunt first. We missed the younger group but there were so many eggs that it didn't matter that there were older kids hunting with us; the girls still got plenty of eggs.  

Blake and Jen invited us to this fun event with them. Blake said he didn't want to hunt for eggs because he was too big, hehe...his bag was filled to the brim though.

After the hunt we stood in line to ride the ponies. Laneah and Blake went to the bounce houses with Jen while Brooklyn and I waited in line. They had these adorable hats for the kids to wear while they rode the ponies. Laneah loved it of course. 

I was so proud of Brooklyn. This was her first pony ride. She has always been too scared before, but she rode all by herself (the saddle had a seat belt). I kept asking her if she wanted to ride and she would say "uh huh", but I was surprised when she got up there. 

They had some bunnies for the kids to pet too. It was a challenge getting them to move on to the next event:)

They had a bunny carnival ride. I rode with the kids and it was fun. 

The kids kept putting their arms up in the air and yelling. 

Brooklyn loved it. She is going to have so much fun at Disney World. 

The kids got their faces painted. Blake got a cheetah face; Brooklyn a butterfly; and Laneah requested a rainbow bat (seriously, she told the lady she wanted a bat with all the colors).

We did a bunch of fun games and then had lunch. 

They had a couple of firetrucks and firemen there to let the kids tour the trucks and talk with them. Laneah lived it up. 

They also had a giant park so we let the kids play there for a little bit before we left. It was fun and you can't beat free. Looking forward to it next year.

Easter Fun

On Friday Jason stayed home from work which was great. I had a really rough week and it was fun just being together as a family and relaxing. We started off with a late breakfast and then dyed the easter eggs. Brooklyn thought that the colored pellets were candy apparently because she grabbed one and was chewing on it before we could grab her and get it out of her mouth. Luckily she didn't swallow any of it and the orange color came off relatively easily after I brushed her teeth. Both of the girls liked dying the eggs.

While the eggs were drying we got ready for the day and Jason hid the eggs outside for the girls. 

Brooklyn was really into egg hunting this year. She was good, but not as fast as Laneah. 

Brooklyn being Brooklyn had to have three baskets to collect her eggs. Whenever she found an egg she clapped for herself.

Then I hid a bunch of eggs inside because the girls wanted to do it again.

Both of the girls loved eating the boiled eggs. Laneah ate three or four and Brooklyn had 2. They both wanted more but I didn't want them to get a tummy ache. 

It was a great family day:)

The Easter Bunny

 We went to see the Easter bunny last week at the mall. I took a few snapshots of the girls before we left. 

 The girls got these bunny hats to wear after the picture.

 Laneah thought the easter bunny was her best friend and asked him a million questions "are you real?", "are you going to bring me candy?", "do you like hopscotch?", etc. 

 Brooklyn was very excited to see the easter bunny but wanted to keep her distance. It was funny because she wanted to give him high fives and he kept putting his hand up for her and she would just give him air high fives because she needed a five foot radius. She loved talking to him too though and kept hopping like a bunny. 

 Brooklyn wouldn't take a picture with him without me in it unfortunately. There was no one there so the girls were able to monopolize his time  until it was his break time. Then they decided to play with his props. It was so funny when Brooklyn tried to feed this carrot to Laneah. 

 We played with the bunny for a few more minutes when he got back before we left for lunch and Laneah played patty cake and 'head, shoulders, kneed and toes'(this bunny was great). 

The girls had fun and maybe next year Brooklyn will actually take a picture with him:)
