Yards Park

On September 6 we went with some friends to Yards Park, which is a new park built by the National's stadium. It is a lot like the city park in St Louis with a fountain and splash area. It is right on the Potomac River and is BEAUTIFUL! The weather didn't want to cooperate and it was raining when we got there. But the kids didn't care because they were planning on getting wet anyway and the water was warm.
The splash area is at the top and has a glass barrier that the water goes underneath and falls into the fountain at the bottom. You have to take the steps down and then you can get into the fountain. You can also go behind the waterfall.
They have this awesome bridge. I love the design.

Brooklyn helped baby Violet by getting her to laugh. So cute!

Isn't that bridge awesome?

All the kiddos.
We had lunch under the bridge and after that it stopped raining so we decided to take a walk. The park and gardens were so picturesque and right on the water.
Park benches shaded by my favorite willow trees.

Behind the waterfall.

Sorry, I know I look terrible, my hair got soaked and it was so frizzy!

Laneah and Ezra have so much fun together.
I loved this place and can't wait to go again. They are building restaurants and shops there as well so it will be even better once the construction is done. And in the summers they have free concerts on the weekends which will be fun to go to next year.

Rachel you always look beautiful! This park looks amazing! I hope we can go there sometime when I come for a visit. I love the picture of Brooklyn making the baby laugh.
