Western Caribbean Cruise

On February 9th, Jason I went on a Carnival cruise to celebrate our 10 year anniversary. We flew out early that morning and then took a shuttle to the port of Miami. It was my first cruise and Jason hadn't been since he was a teenager so we weren't sure what to expect. Our cruise stopped in Cozumel, Belize, Roaton and Grand Cayman and we had booked exciting excursions for each port.
We had a room with an ocean view. We decided against a balcony room since we could use the extra money to go on more excursions. The room was really big, comfortable and had plenty of storage space. Our room steward was so nice and helpful. The ship itself was huge and I never felt crowded or overwhelmed. There were almost as many crew members as guests and they were all friendly. I couldn't believe how clean the ship was. It was a little glitzy, but elegant as well. They had lots of set ups around the ship to take professional pictures at and we indulged in a few.

When we boarded the ship, we got some lunch and then went to the upper deck where it was warm and listened to music and just relaxed. It was so nice to relax in the sun.
It was my first time in Miami so I took a few pictures from the ship.

The theatre and one of the pools. The only thing I was disappointed in were the pools. They were small, cold and shallow. More for a dip when you're hot than swimming.
We watched the sun set and then went to check out or room and get ready for dinner.
When we got to our room we were surprised with an anniversary cake.
And later they delivered chocolate covered strawberries. (Both were purchased by our resort club)
Our steward put up new towel displays in our room every day.

The ship was pretty fun, they had shows, karaoke, dance parties, and plenty of food.
Jason would order 4-5 starters, 2 entrees and 2 desserts every night at dinner. He would even try the adventurous things like frog legs, shark, and alligator. His favorite dinner was lobster night.
We had two days at sea and both were warm and sunny. We laid out for a bit and played mini golf on the top deck. We ate ourselves silly and relaxed. One day we even got a nap! People keep asking what my favorite part was. That is hard, but probably just the fact that we didn't have to do anything. No dishes, laundry, bed making, etc. It was wonderful.

The ship had three main dining halls, a huge buffet, a Mexican cantina, a Guys burger joint, and a 24 hour pizza and ice cream place.
We liked most of the shows. The live game show was fun, and most of the comedy shows were really funny, but our favorite was the comedy hypnosis show.
We took advantage of the all you can eat food and sampled a lot of desserts.
The ship also had a few elegant dinners where you could dress up and we went to one of them.
It was such an amazing adventure. The weather was great, the ports were fun and the ship was clean and nice. It was a perfect anniversary trip.
