Early Trick or Treat

We decided to take the girls to see Transylvania(the new kids movie) and then to the free trick or treating event at the Waugh Chapel Village on Friday October 26. We invited Laneah's friend Ezra to come with us. The girls loved the movie.
The movie ended right when trick or treating started so it was perfect. The weather was in the 70s and gorgeous. With the hurricane heading straight for us we did not know if we were going to be able to go out on Halloween. And since Laneah was going to miss Trunk or Treat at the church because of Disney on Ice this worked out great.

The girls got into their candy right away.
We met up with some friends.
Laneah so darling as a vampire. After telling me for months she wanted to be a vampire because she wanted blood on her mouth (so strange), she chickened out last minute and decided not to add the fake blood. She also wouldn't wear her neck piece causing a lot of people to confuse her as a princess.

Brooklyn as Snow White.
The excitement of candy! Halloween is definitely Brooklyn's favorite holiday.

It was so fun having my mom there with us.

With their candy bags full, the girls were hungry. Rather than letting them eat candy, we ate at Fire House Subs, which in my opinion is better than candy. Just saying. We tried for a family photo after. It is getting better; at least Brooklyn is looking;)

Fire Station Field Trip

On October 16 we went to the fire station for a field trip. This was our last day of preschool for the next month and a half. Laneah's teacher had to put preschool on hold to take care of her husband who broke his hip. The break might be a little difficult for Laneah but some of the moms are doing a co-op during the break to keep preschool going. Any-who onto the field trip. It was at the Waugh Chapel fire station and it was pretty chilly. The girls gave me a hard time in the morning getting dressed but I was determined not to be late since we were late to the pumpkin patch field trip for the same reasons. We made it right on time to start the tour of the fire station. The kids always like that part, but their favorite is seeing the fire trucks.

The girls are always holding hands.
Laneah did not want to come any closer to the fire fighter once he was dressed in his gear.
Laneah couldn't wait to get into the fire truck. She asked me about 100 times when she would get to go inside.
Laneah with Madison, Maddie Eliza and Brooklyn.
 All the girls.
Most of the class (with added siblings).

I am glad we got to do our field trips before the break! Hopefully we will back in preschool after Thanksgiving.

Pumpkin Patch Field Trip

On October 12, Laneah had her pumpkin patch field trip at the Y Worry Farm. The kids started off singing songs on the hay bales and then headed out with their wagons to get pumpkins. Laneah and Maddie were inseparable again.

Brooklyn wanted her own wagon.

The kids carved a pumpkin one day at school and then roasted the seeds. Laneah thought the seeds were really yummy. When she saw these seeds on the ground she was really excited and told Ms Debbie that she was going to take them and plant them in "her garden" at home so we could grow our own pumpkins.

The girls liked the corn maze. Laneah went through it really fast and Brooklyn really slowly so it was hard to get pictures of both of them.

Jason was able to join us for a little while which was nice.

After picking out pumpkins and going through the maze the kids had a snack and story time.

It was a little chilly but it was still fun and the girls enjoyed it.
