January

We had a little bit of snow in January. Nothing stuck thank goodness, but the kids wanted to play outside while the snow was falling (you can't really see the snow in the picture but it's there!)

I went out with some friends after work and had a delicious pina coloda.

Some exercise on Wii Fit.
The girls haven't been coming in our room at night anymore (Hallelujah! ), but Laneah has compensated by getting into bed with Brooklyn.
Laneah went to a cute painting party and made a really good dolphin painting.

Brooklyn got a K'nex set for her birthday and loves building with it. This is our empire state building.
A heart wreath the girls made.
I got a great deal for a family membership to the Science Center through Living Social so we checked that out on a Saturday. The kids loved it.

They have a room for younger kids, but they also have a science room for grades 3 and up. Laneah and I went and and conducted a few fun science experiments.

Jason took the girls to a movie at the Planetarium but Sawyer wasn't interested so we got a snack and then went to the kids zone. He loved that area so much we spent almost an hour in there and only did the first three activities at the entrance. There was still so much to do. Good thing we have a membership!

We had Brooklyn's great to be 8. She won't be 8 this year, but they don't have it until the end of January so she will be baptized before they have the next one. It was really sweet. They had a luncheon, some talks and then gave each child a towel with a poem and a pack of skittles. The towels all had been embroidered with the CTR symbol.

On the very last day of January, we went to a birthday party at Skate zone. It was really fun. Laneah is really good at skating and Brooklyn is pretty good. It was Sawyer's first time and he just went for it. He had the walker, but did not want me to hold on it at all to help him. If he got off track and I touched the walker to help him, he would slap my hand away "I do it!" He did great and skated for a long time.

We finished paying for our Disney Cruise and were able to book all our activities. I can't wait!!! January was a good month.

Brooklyn's 7th birthday party

Brooklyn's birthday fell on the same day as Martin Luther day so there was no school. She invited a bunch of little friends over to celebrate. She wanted a candy themed birthday and they watched the American Girl movie 'Lea'. The girls had popcorn, pizza, and cupcakes; opened presents and played.

She had a lot of fun celebrating her birthday with her friends.

A few things about Brooklyn:

Brooklyn still likes to dress up, especially in my high heels. Although she does tell me she is too old for princesses now.
Takes ballet and tap dance classes.
Brooklyn is very sweet and sensitive.
She loves her first grade teacher and is still taking speech therapy at school.
She is very social and has lots of friends, but likes to have time to herself to play, create and process.
Brooklyn is obsessed with all things Paris.
She always wants to wear her hair down, and sometimes will add a headband or a bow.
Her favorite thing to do is create. Whether it's crafting, drawing, building with legos or making up her own project.

I love my sweet little girl. I can't believe she is 7!!!
