Neighborhood Easter Egg Hunt

On April 12th we got together with our awesome neighbors and had an Easter egg hunt. My brother Alex was still here and my brother Andrew flew in the night before so they were both able to come to the egg hunt with us. Jason had to work, so it was great for the girls to have their uncles to play with.

The uncles coming in handy to get the eggs hidden high up in the trees.

As always, egg hunts are over quickly.
But wait a minute...Laneah found the golden ticket!
Her prize was this huge orange egg.
 And inside was....

A Rita's gift card (a frozen custard and gelati place). Laneah loves it there.
She promptly said she wanted to take her best friend Ezra with her when we use the gift card.

Alex and Andrew both have GO Pros and were filming the whole event.

After the kids dissected their eggs, we all had donuts and milk.

Then we had to head back to load up the car and drive to Virginia.

I really love our neighborhood.

National Harbor

My brother Alex flew in to visit on April 10th. We decided to check out National Harbor. They have been building the area up a lot and since I had been there last they had a new playground and carousel and are almost finished with the Capitol Wheel which looks awesome. It is supposed to be done in May and you will be able to see a lot of the main DC sites.

And no surprise, Brooklyn loved the peeps store.
We went to the Gaylord hotel and then walked around the harbor and they had lots of beautiful cherry blossoms without the crazy DC crowd.

We brought a picnic lunch and went to the kid area. It only cost $5 for Brooklyn to go in and she was able to play on the playground and ride the carousel as many times as she wanted.

We had to head back to pick up Laneah from school but it was such a great choice to go there and a wonderful surprise to see the cherry blossoms.

Grocery Store Field Trip

Brooklyn had a field trip to the grocery store on April 1st. The lady who gave the tour was wonderful with the kids. I had no idea how long it would be (1 1/2 hours!). Who knew? But in each section of the store she talked about different ways to be healthy (eating organic, brushing your teeth, taking vitamins) and pointed out things like colors, sizes, etc.

Making sure the kids got hand sanitizer before their snack. They got apple slices, cheerios, and a cookie at the end.

 Brooklyn and her friend Kate.

It was a good field trip. The kids had fun and were very excited for their gift bags at the end of the tour:)

Adoption Photo Book

We had to make an adoption photo book for our adoption agency. Since I don't think I will get it back, I took pictures of it to have. Our caseworker told us he needed it right away to show to a birth mother so I worked on it for hours and hours and completed it in 4 days. I am pretty proud of it. Hopefully it shows our love.
