Animal Kingdom

On Sunday we went to Disney's Animal Kingdom.
We started off at Kilimanjaro Safaris. You ride in a jeep with a tour guide on an off road "safari". All the animals are in the open and you drive by some slowly and some quickly:)
Passing a herd of Hipos.
These giraffes were so close to the jeep that you could reach out and touch them if you were allowed.
They had a few babies. A baby elephant...

and a baby rhino.
We saw lots of animals and the girls really liked it.
After the ride we headed over to Rainforest Cafe for our lunch. The girls wanted to stop at these and take their pictures.

The girls had never been to the rainforest cafe and Laneah thought it was really cool. Brooklyn wasn't so sure so she stayed close to me while looking at everything.
We sat near the bar which was a giant mushroom that rained along the perimeter right behind our seats and Brooklyn wouldn't stop saying it was raining. The barstools were in the shapes of different animals and Laneah kept playing with them.

Laneah pretending to be a gorilla.

The tree of life.
Alex got us VIP tickets to The Lion King, which was ten times better than the Broadway musical. Because we sat in the front, Laneah got picked twice to go up to the front. Once to lead everyone in a giraffe sound (we were sitting in the giraffe section and apparently giraffes make a sound like a goat) and once to dance in the finale on the stage. Brooklyn wanted to come up and dance too and they let her come as well. They both did so good and had fun dancing and playing the instruments.

When they finished dancing Timon came up to Laneah and Brooklyn and told them they did a good job.
When the Lion King finished we went to Dinoland to ride some rides.

Brooklyn and I saw Pluto and Goofy while Jason and Alex took Laneah on a dinosaur ride that ended up being too scary for her:( Poor thing; first Tower of Terror and then the dinosaur ride. Jason felt pretty bad. Brooklyn wanted to see Pluto and Goofy but was a little scared so I went up to them with her.
Alex played with the girls in a play land while Jason and I rode Expedition Everest which was awesome. Then Jason watched the girls while Alex and I rode it again and then we met at Finding Nemo: The Musical. I didn't care for this one.
It was about five when the show ended and we decided to leave and get dinner with my parents and brother Drew and sister Christy who had just arrived and settled into their hotel. It was my first time seeing my brother Andrew since he got home from his mission and it was great! We hung out with my family for a while and then Alex, Jason and I went to Magic Kingdom for the magic hours.

We rode Magic Carpets, Haunted Mansion, Space Mountain and few others before we called it a night. Space Mountain was my favorite ride by far. We had to be back at Magic Kingdom early in the morning for Laneah's Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique appointment so we didn't get much sleep but it was worth it.
