Brooklyn at 2 years, 3 months

My little girl is growing up and every month she is doing and trying and saying new things. Here are some of the things this little stinker has been up to. 


New words:
calls her blanket(s) "kitty"
calls m&ms "me mees"
"nak"- snack
"ja"- yeah
brush
fork
show- like a tv show
she likes to pretend she is a lion(or in this video, a bear) and roar to scare you

now she says daddy instead of dada, but still calls me momma. It is funny though because she is calling Nana "Nanny" now because she knows that she had to change dada to daddy.

New Things:
*She knows almost all her colors


*Brooklyn is particular, which is a nice way of saying a little OCD.  She not only has to have a specific snack, she wants it in a specific bowl. The problem is that it isn't always the same bowl (or cup, or toy, or whatever it is she wants) and she still doesn't talk well so it can lead to major meltdowns sometimes. 


*She had her first metro ride into DC and loved it. She kept saying "choo, choo" and every time it stopped she would say "more".

*Brooklyn enjoys being outside, and really likes playing in the backyard. 

*She has been doing swim lessons and likes that as well. It is 'mommy and me' class but mostly she goes with Jason. (pictures and a post coming soon).

*She still lives by the philosophy 'the more jewelry the better'. Or any accessory for that matter.

*Brooklyn has been singing well. Before she would just hum or sing "ahhh", but now she really tries and sings with some words. Her favorite songs are 'Bushel and a Peck' and 'Wheels on the Bus'. I need to get a video of her singing, it's too cute.


*When we go to the park, she mostly wants to be pushed on the swings. But she refuses to go down the slides at the park, which is funny because she loves the slides at bounce houses. She just walks back down the stairs when she is done playing.

*Brooklyn likes talking on the phone, especially to her Nana. She kisses the phone, and when we talk on skype, she kisses the camera.

*Playing with dolls is still one of her favorite activities.

*She is a great climber and can get up all the bouncy places by herself. 

*She loves her big sister.

*She still loves to read as well and her favorite books are lift the flap books and one of those '100 words' books. 

She is still a cuddle bug and loves to be held and give hugs and kisses (even if she does say "eww" after I give her a kiss. lol)
