Laneahisms:

Laneah speaks very well. She can pretty much say anything you can, but she does still say a few funny things though.

*serious- she says this correctly, it is just really funny when she says it. She will yell "Serious! Jeez!"

*dinasanor- dinosaur

*medcinin- medicine

*She calls a water fountain a "water fall"

*She calls mustard "yellow" and ketchup "red"

New and Current Things:

Laneah is such a good big sister. She loves Brooklyn and always wants to show her off, play with her and help her. She wants to do things with her. We just have to be really careful because Laneah gets very exuberant around her. The other day Laneah wanted to read Brooklyn a story, it was so sweet I sneakily took some pictures.

Laneah started a gymnastics class at Rolly Pollies. She has so much fun there. The class has singing and prepared exercises specifically to help the kids development based on their age group. Laneah is in the Butterflies class, which is 2-3 year olds.
(Laneah on the balance beam)
(climbing out of the foam pit)
(She loves to swing on the bars. She does really well and
can get her feet up and over the other bar)
Laneah loves to sing. She either wants to sing with mommy or sing by herself. She also sings along with her cartoons. We are very excited for music makers to start again.

One day when we were in St Louis at a park, Laneah climbed up a rock and yelled really loud "Super Neah!". And the other day she grabbed a hand towel and wanted me to put it around her like a cape. She ran around the house yelling "Super Neah!" and pretended that she was flying.

Laneah has a growing imagination. She loves to play pretend with her stuffed animals. She also pretends that she is doing things with either imaginary friends or people she know that aren't there at the time. For example, here she dressed up to go to a soccer game with daddy even though daddy was really at work. Notice the lack of pants? She doesn't think she needs to wear pants for some reason.

Laneah loves to swim. Every time we go, she gets better in the water. Our first trip to the pool, she was very hesitant. She would get in the water but cling to me or Jason. Now she will swim all by herself with her floaties. The only thing that she still refuses to do is go underwater. But we can get her to blow bubbles and sometimes put part of her face in the water. She especially likes when she can swim with her cousins.

Laneah is very active and adventurous. She is independent and wants things just so; it is her way, or no way. Sometimes she makes me laugh and sometimes she makes me want to pull my hair out, but we sure do love her!

Brooklyn is 6 months!

6 Month Stats

Weight: 14 lbs, 8 1/2 oz; 25%
Height: 26 5/8"; 80%
Head Circumference: 42 cm; 40%

*She discovered her feet and she loves to play with them.

*Brooklyn has been sleeping in her crib most of the night, but still naps in her swing.

*She squeals all the time. She gets so high pitched that sometimes she sounds like a little teapot.

*Brooklyn loves to look at the "baby" in the mirror. She is so cute that she can't help but smile and laugh at herself.

*She is very musical. She loves to here me sing and she tries to sing along.

*She learned a new trick on her tummy where she lifts her arms and legs at the same time. She is very proud of her new trick and does it all the time when she is on her tummy. She can also roll from her back to her side.

*Brooklyn is at the age where she pulls hair. My hair is apparently very fun to pull and play with.

*She likes to stick her tongue out all the time now. She also enjoys blowing raspberries and thinks it is extremely funny when you blow raspberries at her.

*This little girl is constantly kicking her legs. She loves her jumper and playing horse with mommy. She has become very wiggly and active.

*Brooklyn started eating rice cereal. The first time she had it she didn't eat it, but she would spit it out and laugh, or blow raspberries, spraying us with the cereal:) She likes it now though and eats it well for breakfast.

*Brooklyn had her first trip to the pool. She loves her baths so it was no surprise that she was a little fish in the pool. She looked like a little frog kicking her legs. She kept sticking her tongue out trying to lap the water.
*She is able to sit up by herself for about 15-30 seconds without any support.
Brooklyn is still so sweet and loving. She is getting so big I can't believe it. We love our little girl!

Jason's Birthday and the 4th of July

Jason's birthday was Saturday and we had our usual pool party cookout. We have been having a lot of fun at the pool this year. Laneah was a lot more brave in the water once she saw her cousins swimming. She started jumping off the sides to us and trying to swim.

She still wouldn't go underwater, but she made a lot of progress. Brooklyn is a water baby and she is happy when she is in the water. She kicks her little legs and smiles and coos.

Laneah's "handstand". This is her favorite trick in the pool.
Jason wanted homemade oreos instead of cake this year.

Laneah loves birthdays and singing "Happy Birthday". She wanted us all to sing together and helped daddy blow out the candle. Jason and I tried to sing quietly so you could hear her sweet voice.

Laneah and I made these yummy star rice crispy treats for the 4th of July.
Laneah had fun using the star cookie cutter and she loved putting on the red sprinkles.

Showing off her star.
I got some cute pictures of the girls before church.

After church and naps, we went to a 4th of July parade.
It was 98 degrees outside so we brought a little fan and a squirt bottle. Brooklyn loved the little fan, she would smile and coo at it.
Laneah got really excited when the parade started and gave it a thumbs up
Check out this horses hair and hooves
Laneah got lots of candy, a balloon and even a beach ball. So she was very happy.
Brooklyn also loved the parade and watched it intently.
After the parade we came home and lit some fireworks. We had sparklers, fountains, snakes, and pops. Laneah was really into the fireworks this year and thought they were really cool.

Brooklyn was fascinated by the fireworks as well.
We had a great, albeit, busy weekend. I always love the fourth of July. The fireworks are fun, and the pride that swells in my heart for my country is always immense. I love being an American and I feel blessed to be one. God bless America and Happy 4th of July!
