Princess Party

After the fall festival, the girls and I went to a birthday party for Brooklyn's friend Kate. It was a princess party and the girls were so excited when Cinderella showed up! It was a cute party. Cinderella read them stories, played games with them, made balloon animals, sang and signed autographs.

Laneah wanted a sword of course.
But loved the rings she got.

The girls favorite game was ring around the rosy. They were all laughing so hard, it was adorable.

Then they played a game where Cinderella put rings on the floor and sang a song while the kids walked in a circle; when she stopped signing the kids would be able to pick up a ring. Whoever didn't get a ring was out of the game but the got to keep the extra ring. Laneah was one of the first ones to get out and she asked Cinderella if she could sing. So Laneah sang (really well) Ariel and then Aurora's song. Then she sang with Cinderella. It was so cute. For some reason they closed their eyes.
Then Cinderella had to leave and we played some other party games like princess and the pea and kiss the frog.

After games we sang to princess Kate and had cake and ice cream.
It was fun, thanks to Kate for a great birthday party!

Fall Festival

On October 6, we attended our annual free fall festival. This year it was warm and sunny; a perfect day to be outside. Laneah wanted to climb the rock wall first thing. She got about halfway up before she decided she had gone high enough.

Brooklyn and Laneah both wanted to have their faces painted.

Then we played some games in the game tent and on the playground.

They had a couple of animal pens. One had some goats and a big sheep dog. The girls all wanted to pet the dog, forget the goats;)
Another pen had ducks and bunnies and you could hold the bunnies.

Then it was time to ride the horses. The owner of the horses is super nice and funny. He had Laneah and I cracking up.

I wasn't sure how Brooklyn would do since she wouldn't ride last year, but she liked it. Jason had to hold onto her though because she kept sliding.

Laneah got to ride again with her friend Maddie. They were so cute riding together.

We had lunch and cotton candy and popcorn.

We love our fall festival!!!

Apple Picking

On September 26, we went to Homestead Farms with our friends Teresa and Maddie. It was a long drive; a little over a hour, but it was worth it. It ended up being unseasonably warm, which was nice. The farm land was beautiful and acres and acres. You wouldn't believe that you were close to so many cities.
We got bought some animal food and went around visiting and feeding all the farm animals. The pens were loose chicken wire so the animals could stick their heads out and you could easily pet them.

The calf's name is Elmo and he is so sweet. His little moo sounded like he was saying momma and he ate green beans.

Brooklyn liked the calf, but she really liked the baby goats.

Laneah picked up this giant squash, which Brooklyn called a "big peanut".

After seeing the animals we washed our hands and got some wheel barrows to pick apples. The girls loved it.

Brooklyn liked the "baby apples".

Before we left, we went on a hayride. The hayride usually only runs on the weekend but since it was a holiday and school was out, they had it available. The hayride took us to a pumpkin patch. The girls wanted to get pumpkins but we were waiting for their pumpkin patch field trip to get pumpkins.
Brooklyn insisted on wearing her Cinderella slippers. I couldn't resist getting a picture of her shoe on a pumpkin.
After the hayride we bought our apples and some fresh vegetables. Seriously the best apples and tomatoes I have had in a long time. It was a really fun place to go.
