After lunch we went back to Jacob's house to change and get ready for our dolphin cruise. Laneah wanted to put sunglasses on Miko (Jacob's dog) and thought it was the funniest thing ever.
We went back to the Harbor Walk for our dolphin cruise and we were so lucky that the storms went away (the forecast called for storms all through the evening). We all loved the cruise.
Laneah pretending to be a pirate.
The crew kept pulling sea creatures out of nets to let the kids pet. Laneah hesitantly pet a crab.
The view was spectacular. The only thing I didn't like was people kept feeding the seagulls. That has always annoyed me, why would you want a bunch of nasty birds flapping around your head waiting to drop bird bombs? Yuck. One girl tried to feed the birds around me and I told her to go to the other side of the boat.
We saw lots of dolphins at different times and a big pod swam with us for a good ten minutes.
Laneah and the dolphins.
You can see a fractured rainbow in the sunset behind the clouds.
The dolphins really liked this paddle boarder. You can see how close the dolphins get to shore here.
Brooklyn had lots of love to give her Uncle Drew.
The girls each got a turn being the captain and steering the ship.
After the cruise we grabbed dinner at Fire House Subs. Mom and Dad had never been there before. They shared a sub and Mom said it was so good she wished she didn't have to share:) I don't blame her, Firehouse is delicious.
Unfortunately we only had two days to spend in Destin, so after another yummy breakfast of homemade crepes the next day, we piled back into the van and started our trek to St Louis.
