On our first full day in Hawaii, we went to the North Shore. We started at Sharks Cove for snorkeling. We quickly found out that Laneah loved the beach and Brooklyn hated it. I was really surprised. Laneah ran right into the water squealing. I tried to sit brooklyn down in the sand and she wanted nothing to do with it; same with the water.
She was happy only sitting on a towel eating with mommy very close by.
Brooklyn looked adorable in her strawberry swimsuit.
After a little while at Sharks Cove we went to Waimea Bay. Laneah played and played and played. She had the ocean, sand and her beach toys and she was happy as a clam.
Laneah and Blake had their turns getting buried in the sand.
After the beach we went into Halewia, which is one of my favorite places on Oahu. We met up with my brother Alex and my parents at Motsimottos for some amazing shave ice. Brooklyn ate most of mine:) When she decided I wasn't feeding her fast enough, she quickly took over and just dipped her hands in and got the ice herself.
We did a little window shopping and then went to Pizza Bobs, another college favorite of mine. I got the Hawaiian Pizza and it was SO amazing. We all enjoyed our food. On our way back to the house we were renting, we stopped and watched the sunset at Sunset beach. It was spectacular.
Then we made a pit stop at Ted's Bakery and got a variety of pie slices to try. My favorite was strawberry guava, but I also really liked the coconut cream cake. Yum!
We went to a few parks because the weather was nice and the girls just looked so cute as always that I had to snap some photos.
Pure joy.
After our weekend in Kansas City, we spent the week in St Louis. One night we went to The Incredible Pizza Company, which is always a huge hit with the kids. I wish we had one in Maryland.
I love that Laneah always cheers for herself.
They have a room just for little ones. Brooklyn and Laneah both loved the miniature carousel ride.
This place has an indoor glow-in-the-dark miniature golf course.
Brooklyn and Laneah both had fun jumping on this dance floor.
The girls got animal balloons.
The buffet food is actually pretty good here. Brooklyn got an ice cream cone and was the happiest little thing on earth except when someone would try to clean up the drips. She has such a sweet tooth. Brooklyn walked around with this ice cream cone for like thirty minutes until I had to take it away.
The girls love their Nana and Papa.
We left full and happy:)
For the first part of our trip, the girls and I flew to Kansas City to see my good friend Heather and her family. She has two cute kids, Isabella and Caden. We only had two days, but it was so wonderful just to spend time together. Heather and I have the best kind of friendship where no matter how long it has been, you can just pick right back where you left off. Unfortunately, the age difference proved to much for Isabella and Laneah, but the kids all still had fun.
On our first day we went to Wonders Cove, which is a really cute children's museum. They had several different rooms and we started in the ball room. You got to pick a bucket of balls and then they had lots of stations where you could roll them, race them, etc.
A favorite room was the food market, although Brooklyn kept trying to eat all the plastic food.
I thought this room was the cutest. The kids can dress up like Drs and surgeons and examine babies.
Dr Brooklyn on consult.
Caden loved the train set in the hallway.
The art room was fun as well, they have special markers so you can draw on your face and tons of paper, glue, glitter and other art supplies.
There were lots of other rooms and the kids loved it there. We also took them to a bounce zone and wore them out:) But my favorite part was when Chris (Heather's husband) and my dad, who had come to pick us up, watched the kids so Heather and I could go out. We went shopping and ate at Bravo, my favorite restaurant. It was perfect!
After we got back from dinner, my dad drove the girls and I to St Louis. Thanks Heather and Chris for having us. We miss you guys!
